Kölle Etiketten celebrates its 140th anniversary in 2024. Since its foundation in 1884, the company has been run by the Kölle family for four generations. Until 31 March 2024, for a total of 30 years, Philipp Kölle led the company as Managing Director with confidence, success and entrepreneurial vision.
During this time, the company area was greatly expanded, production was expanded and modernised and productivity was significantly increased. Close customer contacts, extensive expertise, reliability, good supplier relationships and an experienced workforce with little fluctuation are still the recipe for success that Philipp Kölle has been responsible for to this day.
Always aware of his entrepreneurial responsibility and with an eye to the future, Philipp Kölle began early on to consider the further development of Kölle Etiketten GmbH and his succession.
A succession in his own family would have been too uncertain due to the age of the children. Mr Kölle was also convinced that companies of our size would find it increasingly difficult to survive successfully on the market in the future.
With the German, foundation-based Possehl Group, a buyer was found who invests in successful companies on a long-term and sustainable basis and at the same time recognises the specific success DNA of each company.
Kölle Etiketten has now been integrated into PID (Possehl Indentification Solutions), a sub-division of the Possehl Group, since January 2023.
It was clear to Mr Kölle from the outset that he would retire completely from the company once the handover process had been successfully completed.
In February 2024, Kölle Etiketten welcomed its new Managing Director, Dr Thomas Schrettle. Mr Schrettle comes from our neighbourhood, brings with him extensive expertise in the printing sector and in packaging printing in particular, and was previously Managing Director of a packaging printing company for many years. Kölle Etiketten is therefore ideally equipped for the future under the new management, the proven and experienced team and the new strong owner.
When asked what Philipp Kölle will be doing in the future, he replied:
‘I'm looking forward to the new phase of my life and already have many projects, away from the label business, that I can now tackle.’
